New Priest: Rev'd Craig Vance

St. Luke’s is very pleased to announce that the Rev’d Craig Vance is the new priest in charge at St. Luke’s. In an innovative move we are collaborating with St. John the Divine in Morgan Hill and thus able to call a full time priest together.

Fr. Craig  (as he likes to be called) has served parishes in Vancouver Canada, on Maui in Hawaii,  as well as interim work in St. Andrews, Ben Lomond, All Saints, Palo Alto and St. Francis, San Jose in the diocese of El Camino Real. He hails from Vancouver BC and feels that it is his life calling to help the good citizens of the United States to learn all that they can about their polite northern neighbour. 🙂 He studied theology in Vancouver at Regent College and Vancouver School of Theology and has also  taken Interim Ministry Training.

He plays guitar in folk/rock and jazz modalities. He enjoys cross country skiing, snorkeling in tropical oceans, hiking, travel , languages and hanging out in old monasteries. He is a semi- amateur landscape photographer.

He has two adult children, Daniel  (and 2 grandchildren) in Vancouver and Amadea in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

His personal mission statement is “commending the Great Tradition to a new generation.” We pray that together we will see a renewed parish reaching out to its community and welcoming new folks into what our former presiding bishop, Michael Curry, called “The Episcopal wing of the Jesus Movement.”.
